The Dora Community Orchard is a living symbol of Poverty Intervention Charity Transforming Scotland’s (PICTS) commitment to dignity, unity, and renewal. Rooted in the heart of the community, the orchard is more than a place to grow fruit, it is a sanctuary where people can nurture both the land and their own wellbeing.
Mental Health & Wellbeing Through planting, tending, and harvesting, the orchard offers therapeutic connection with nature. These simple acts of care provide calm, purpose, and healing, supporting mental health in a gentle way.
Community & Inclusion
The orchard is a gathering space where volunteers, families, and neighbours come together. It fosters belonging, strengthens social bonds, and ensures everyone has a role in cultivating shared abundance.
Growth & Sustainability
By growing fruit and maintaining green spaces, the orchard promotes sustainable living and food security, while teaching skills that empower individuals and communities.
Outdoor Activities & Engagement Beyond planting, the orchard hosts a wide array of outdoor activities, learning, storytelling, and seasonal ceremonies, that celebrate heritage and nurture resilience.
We love our communities, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
